Floor & Hardwood Water Damage Restoration in Port Coquitlam

Central Port Coquitlam basements lose the carpet pad. Citadel Heights laminate swells at the window-well wall first. A foyer and a basement are not the same material.

Citadel Heights, Oxford Heights, Mary Hill, Central Port Coquitlam, and the rest of Port Coquitlam

Mary Hill, Lincoln Park, and the central grid are the pad jobs. Citadel Heights and Oxford Heights are the laminate-at-the-wall jobs. Riverwood depends on the lot: low slabs hide under vinyl, hill floors swell at a well. Upstairs, a bath leak cups a hallway subfloor, and that plywood is not the basement carpet.

Saturated basement carpet loses the pad almost every time. Drain water takes the carpet too. A short hose flood might save the face and still lose the pad. We say which water it was before the floor is ordered.

Mary Hill pad out from under a basement carpet

If the pad was soaked, it comes out. The carpet is a category question: clean and short, maybe; a drain, no. Lincoln Park basements on the same older grid get a corner lifted so we are not guessing from the face. Smell with a flat carpet is still a wet pad.

The slab is dried after the soft layers are up. A new carpet on a damp slab mildews.

Citadel laminate bubbled at one wall, checked underneath

A partial replacement is possible when the rest of the floor meters dry under the finish. We look under it, not only at the top. Oxford Heights wells start the swell at that wall and walk it inward. The wet run comes up. The dry run stays.

New laminate waits until the slab under the wet run has dropped.

Central hallway subfloor under a bathroom leak

Upstairs wood is a subfloor job. We meter the boards and the plywood before we replace something that can dry. A foyer floor and the basement floor in the same house get separate notes if they are different materials, which they usually are.

The ceiling under that bathroom is the other half of the same water. The floor scope still includes the subfloor, not only the stain below.

Riverwood vinyl pulled back on a low slab

Near the rivers, sheet vinyl hides concrete that wicks. The sheet comes back so the slab can take air. Putting it down the next day traps the moisture. Hill lots in the same neighbourhood, if the floor is laminate at a well, are written as the well, not as this low-slab sheet.

Area rugs return when the floor under them is dry.

Questions about floor & hardwood water damage restoration in Port Coquitlam

Citadel laminate bubbled at one wall. Can the repair be partial?

+
Yes, if the rest meters dry underneath. We check under the floor, not just the bubble on top.

Is central basement carpet always thrown out?

+
The pad comes out if it was soaked. The carpet depends on the water. A drain takes it. A short clean hose flood might save the face.

When can area rugs go back down?

+
When the floor under them is dry. A rug on a damp slab mildews.
