Basement Flooding & Restoration in Port Coquitlam

Port Coquitlam basement floods between the rivers and Citadel Heights. Groundwater on the flat, wells on the hill.

Citadel Heights, Oxford Heights, Mary Hill, Central Port Coquitlam, and the rest of Port Coquitlam

Mary Hill, Riverwood, Lincoln Park, and central Port Coquitlam feel a high water table when the rivers are up. Citadel Heights and Oxford Heights feel a window well. A wet basement in PoCo is not a single local tradition. Older central laterals also back up at the floor drain. We separate those before any finish is saved or scrapped.

River-side rooms

The slab wicks. A sump that is stuck or a valve that has not been pulled in years fills the room from below. Carpet in these older basements loses the pad almost every time. We pump, remove the wet soft finishes, and dry concrete that will not hurry.

Hill rooms

Citadel laminate swells at the well wall first. That is the inlet. Insulation on the uphill concrete comes off if it is soaked. The foyer upstairs is not this flood. If the ceiling is also wet, tell us, but it is probably the roof valley and it gets its own notes.

Laundry that disguises a drain

A basement washer in a central bungalow can fail on its own, or the standpipe can be the path a backup used. We look at the standpipe before we call it a clean hose failure. The category decides the carpet.

Rebuilding on a slow slab

Low-side concrete near the rivers is the long part. We do not lay new flooring on a weekend guess. If the pump is still a coin toss, the new basement is temporary.

Questions about basement flooding & restoration in Port Coquitlam

Central PoCo versus Citadel. Do you need us to say which?

+
Yes. It changes the inlet we look for and the equipment we bring.

The basement carpet was old. Does that change the flood cleanup?

+
It still comes out if it is saturated, and the pad under it is the part that actually holds the water.

Can a river-adjacent basement be finished the same way as a hill basement?

+
Only if the water control works. The finishes can look the same. The risk under them is not.
