Emergency Water Removal in Port Moody

Emergency Water Removal in Port Moody

Heritage Mountain wells, Moody Centre drains, and Inlet Centre stacks. Emergency water removal from the mountain to the water.

Moody Centre, Heritage Mountain, Pleasantside, April Road, and the rest of Port Moody

Port Moody is an inlet with a mountain behind it. Heritage Mountain and Pleasantside send stormwater into window wells and walk-outs. Moody Centre and April Road basements take older laterals at the floor drain. Inlet Centre and the concrete buildings flood from a stack or a parkade ramp. College Park can be either a house or a building depending on the block. The emergency crew needs to know which, because a mountain basement and a concrete corridor are not the same extraction.

Walk-outs on the mountain

Water shows at the outside wall and runs toward the walk-out. We pump, then check the cavity behind the finished wall. Slope basements that took water through the uphill side soak the batts. Those come out. Laminate swells from the outside inward. A fan pointed at the glass does not dry the wall that actually got hit.

Village basements

Moody Centre backups are dirty-water jobs. Keep the household out of the basement. We extract, remove what the water touched if it is porous, and disinfect hard surfaces after the water is gone. Older copper in these houses is a separate, cleaner emergency when a line lets go inside plaster or drywall. Shut the main if you can do it dry.

Concrete by the inlet

A stack leak in Inlet Centre runs the corridor and the suite below. We start in the wet unit and we need the strata to open the source. Parkade ramps take rain at the bottom of the grade. Pumping a stall without telling the building the drain is blocked just brings the water back. Photograph the path.

Wind off the inlet

Exposed walls take rain sideways. If water is still entering at a window head or a low commercial roof, we cover what we can and extract what is already in. Drying a concrete corridor takes air and time. A house on Heritage Mountain needs the uphill cavity opened enough to dry. We do not close either one the same night.

Questions about emergency water removal in Port Moody

Heritage Mountain walk-out is wet at the hill wall. Do I open the drywall?

+
No. We open it to the wet edge so the cavity can dry. A random hole dumps debris and misses the bay.

Moody Centre drain backup. Is the upstairs safe to sleep in?

+
Usually, if the water stayed in the basement and you are not tracking it up. Keep kids and pets out of the wet floor.

Inlet Centre parkade is flooding up the ramp. Can you help the unit too?

+
Yes. Tell us if a suite is also dripping. The ramp and the stack can be two different sources.
